Some dogs really LIKE having their clothes

This dog is smiling and enjoying life because that cool coat is keeping him comfortable. Why not help a dog enjoy the summer?

So, I hear from time to time about how people don't think dogs need or should have clothes.  Sometimes that’s true.  A husky probably doesn't need a winter coat. A labrador retriever who lives in Texas probably doesn't need a winter coat, although they might need help cooling off.

Little dogs like this one get cold quickly. Why not provide them with a coat so they can relieve themselves outside in relative comfort?

Dogs that are suited to tropical weather can be found living in Montana in the winter. Likewise, you’ll find Newfoundlands who would exist happily in Canada but find themselves in Florida. Since people have placed these dogs in situations that are less than ideal for them, it seems logical that we help them adapt when we can. That’s where dog clothes come in. Once a dog discovers how much better they feel, they are more than happy to wear clothes.

Dogs that have alot of muscle or dogs that have flatter faces (brachycephalic) have a hard time cooling off like other dogs. Dog clothes can help them do that.

A dog that refuses to walk in any clothing might not like coats.  Or a dog that chews up anything that is put on him or her, probably doesn't like clothes.  Or at least THOSE clothes.  Is it that he or she doesn’t like clothes? Or, is it possible that whatever it is doesn't fit, so the clothing is more bothersome than it is worth.

Some dogs love the attention they get when they are dressed. If that outfit not only makes them feel special, but also helps them stay comfortable, that’s even better.

Sure, I make dog clothes, so I’m happy to sell them to you.  I talk to alot of people who want something for their dog to help them feel better, stay cooler, etc.  But I believe the dogs will let you know if they want whatever it is.

If they look and seem pretty comfortable just as they are, they might not need any help from us. However, If they seem cold, hot, uncomfortable, etc., maybe they need something after all.  If you look at your dog and really watch their behavior, you can probably tell how they are doing.  Maybe it's nice to know there are options.
