Why get a dog raincoat for your best friend?
Does your dog need a raincoat?
Not every dog needs a raincoat, but some do. Is yours one of them? That's going to depend on several factors. The place you live, what you do with your dog, and their characteristics can be factors in your decision about getting or not getting a raincoat.
Reasons to get a dog raincoat.
- Your dog has long fur that takes a while to dry. Keeping your best friend dry can cut down on grooming time significantly.
- You want to keep the "wet dog" smell under control. You know that smell. A wet dog can get it all over your house, car, etc.
- You want to decrease the amount of rain and mud all over when your dog comes in from the rain. Just like the smell, they spread stuff everywhere.
- You want to keep your dog from getting chilled if they have to spend time in the rain. Even in the summertime, being wet impairs your dog’s body from keeping itself regulated so they get cold after a while.
If you have a water dog and don’t mind the after effects, a raincoat might not be on your list of necessary dog gear. However, if you have a dog that chills easily or requires alot of grooming, it’s worth getting one.
